Installation Requirements

The C-Cubed MVS Direct API line of products are based upon a client / server technology. This means that they use components on both the local PC workstation and a remote MVS host system in order to communicate between the two platforms. The primary form of communications protocol is SNA (sometimes known as APPC or LU6.2), although a TCP/IP flavor is available. Both protocols allow direct connectivity from the PC to the remote mainframe system, with complete security management that is controlled by your existing MVS security package (RACF, ACF2, CA-Top Secret, etc...).

MVS Mainframe Software Requirements

• MVS Mainframe Operating Environment - MVS, OS/390, Z/OS, etc.
• IBM VTAM, version 3.1 (or higher)
• IBM APPC/MVS, ASCH/MVS
• TCP/IP stack (optional)

PC Workstation Hardware Requirements

• At least a Pentium II CPU (or higher)
• At least 256MB of RAM
• 10MB of Hard Disk Space
